Definitely, the game works and steam works right off the bat. My beef was
the lack of detailed information provided for the 5 different versions out
there. There aren't any pictures on Valve's site of what you get in the
Gold package and I feel the retail Collector's edition included book was
falsely advertised as something of worth, instead of a preview of Prima's
two $25+ books. I also read the steam FAQs about 5 times and waited a
couple days for some details to emerge, but I finally couldn't wait any
longer.

If I knew what I know now, I would have bought it directly from Valve and
not the version in the store, and there's absolutely nothing I can do about
that now. Too bad for me...call the wah-mbulance.

But the game IS incredible...do yourself a favor and buy it however you can
get it->

Question:

Can I just go to the store, grab a copy, come home, install it, register
online and play it?
