Mr. Bush is exactly what the Religious Right has hoped for for decades: battle lines. They want to force Americans into choosing sides by framing all policy around this question: "Do you want a country where your children are exposed to grapic sex and language on your TV? On Billboards? In magazine ads? On the radio? Which side are you on? The side of the sicko sex freaks or the side of decent church going folk?" In this way they co-opt the nation and force a reactionary agenda based on a moral ultimatum. It then becomes very hard for someone to fight on the side of porn. Look at what's happened to the Gay Marriage debate. It's gone from a debate about human rights to a debate about "what's next?" You'll hear this all of the time, "What's next, a man marrying his dog? A father marrying his daughter?" It's the ole slippery slope debate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Gold Sponsor - CFHosting.net http://www.cfhosting.net Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:137129 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
