Well, something about this is almost ok, but on the other side, not really.
It is my understanding, and I could be wrong, that stuff like equal time laws only apply to broadcast TV, I don't think it would be a bad idea to incorporate things like equal time to other forms of media. I mean, think about it, when dealing with cable, in many cities the local cable company has a monopoly, there ought to be some form of regulation there, maybe its done by the local government that gives them that monopoly, but maybe not. Do I think they should be regulating the content of the programming, no, I don't, I do think they could place rules that require the systems to use parental controls, allowing parents to be able to put limits on what stations can be watched, and at what times they can be watched. I personally don't find Stern funny, I think he is pretty full of himself, and am interested to see what happens to his market share in Satellite radio. I know I ain't gonna pay for it. -----Original Message----- From: Gruss Gott [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, November 19, 2004 12:46 AM To: CF-Community Subject: FCC Considers Regulation of Cable TV, Satellite Radio http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,65734,00.html?tw=wn_tophead_1 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Gold Sponsor - CFHosting.net http://www.cfhosting.net Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:137094 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
