But it isn't a geek-only thing anymore. Many cable/dsl companies are
starting to send out modems with wireless just built-in. So as long if
they subscribe to cable internet or DSL, they automatically have
wireless. In other cases, the companies are including or recommending
people go buy a "firewall" for their connection and if you look on the
store shelves it's getting to the point that it's hard to buy a
wired-only router/firewall.

The latest numbers show that of households with Internet access, over
half (51.42%) have broadband. So it's not a geek thing anymore.
