I run a AMD 1ghz CPU with I think 768mb or a 1 gb of RAM and have
Win2k Server on it along with MSSQL 2k, Oracle 9i, CFMX and who knows
what else. I use that computer for misc development work at home, a
central storage spot and anytime I want to copy a VHS or DVD that is
the computer I use. My only problems with it is hard drive space, it
has a 10gb boot drive, 120gb storage and a 160gb storage though only
130 or so is recognized due to the old motherboard. Really would not
have a storage problem if I did not pack rat misc. movies onto it.

Then I use a AMD 700mhz box with 768mb of RAM and Win2k Pro. It is
running blue dragon and MSSQL 2k for a small project I am doing at
home. Has a Mylex card with 256mb cache, RAID 5 with I believe 5 9gb
hard drives. This box is supposed to be more or less my home
workstation though I need to just go to the "server" since it is
always on.

Then I have a AMD 500mhz box that the kids use from time to time.
Then my two laptops which are both Intels. One laptop is almost
always on and used downstairs for email and misc web browsing,
sometimes used to develop CFM stuff. The other laptop is the one from
work and if ever used at home, usually just used for excel
spreadsheets.

I just remembered I still have a dual Pentium 333mhz box up and
running 24/7 as a web server with Win2k Server on it as well as a
Pentium Pro 180mhz box that is used for DNS/mail serving. I am sure
both of those are just problems waiting to happen since they are so
old. Somewhere I still have a quad Pentium Pro 180 and a dual
Pentium Pro 180 boxes that just collect dust, no idea why I am keeping
them.

My only complaints computer wise right now is I would really like
something to allow me to bypass Macrovision copy protection on VHS
tapes so I could backup all my kids Disney movies to the computer and
then to DVDs, so I can stop buying a new VCR yearly. Also would like
some sort of backup solution for the storage drives since I do house a
lot of old work on them and then the all important MP3 collection.
