That France is gone, it was replaced in 1789 by the revolution.  The US,
however, has had the same constitution since 1939.  

I just don't expect an sanctimonious prig to lecture me about foreign
policy when he and his country is getting rich because they are not
enforcing the sanctions that country voted for.

I forgot to add, your implied argument is that because almost 2
generations ago they were liberated from the Nazis, they should follow
US dictates to the letter. Following that line of reasoning then it
stands to reason that since France "liberated" the US about 220 years
ago, the US government should follow what the France's foreign policy.
