I'm not sure I agree that logic is any different than saying that all taxes are unfair because, you know, I earned all the money I have... as a matter of fact, I'm not likely to receive any inheritance from any of my family members -- is it more fair for me to pay the government from money that my blood sweat and tears went into, or for Paris Hilton to pay the government from money her parents gave her? If anything I think the reverse is true, an estate tax is more fair than an income tax that's paid out of a wage or salary. Getting rid of the estate tax is like saying "oh, it's not fair to reduce the number of presents a kid gets at christmas" while we purchase clothes for those kids at the Gap who use child-labor in 3rd world countries.
