Might not be the only thing that's not economical - it seems hybrids
are impacting more than just the environment.  While you can get a tax
credit for owning a hybrid, some states are already looking at ways to
recoup the taxes lost to lower gasoline sales.

It's in the research phase right now from what I can find, a cusory
search didn't result in any proposition or docket number for
legislation.

One side of me wants to scream about the invasion of privacy that the
concept represents; another side of me wants to scream that the state
needs to learn to live within it's means.  For hybrid owners it's a
rather backwards step for the fiscal savings.
