Yea, "high-5" is new -- they started building it over 2 years ago
before my year back.

http://www.highfivecam.com/index_cam_1.htm

Strange that they set up 2 streaming cameras, and neither one of them
is looking _at_ the structure -- both of them are looking sort of
wistfully off to the side of it.

That area near Richardson is in north-dallas (my grandmother lives
about 1.5 miles from that interchange). They've needed to build
something like high-5 in that area for a long time because of
increasing traffic in north dallas where the interchanges between
I-635 and I-75 used to be fairly dangerous. The new one is pretty nice
actually -- no more urgently crossing 3 lanes to hit a left exit where
you have to merge instantaneously with a lane of traffic to your right
that you can't see until 50 ft from the merge. And in the other
direction no more hair-pin turn before merging with a lane of 70pmh
traffic on _both_ sides that you can't see until a split-second before
the merge.

The mix-master is downtown where Reunion Tower (the ball) and all the
high-rise office buildings are, like the building with Mobile(?)
corp's red neon pegasus on the top (not sure if it's still there).
There are a couple spots in the mix-master that are dangerous, but not
as bad as the interchanges high-5 is replacing (with the possible
exception of the one I described) -- the problem with the mix-master
is mostly that it's confusing. I'd have really liked to see someone do
something to improve that one interchange from 75 north to 30 east,
but I don't think it's very likely partly due to the congestion of the
existing road/buildings and partly because I don't think most people
perceive it as a problem.
