I actually have a lot of family history in Dallas... There's a statue of my great-great grandfather, George Bannerman Dealey on the grassy-knoll where Kennedy was shot. He bought the Dallas Morning News from Gen. Alfred H. Belo about the time he turned 60 and then immediately started publishing editorials defaming the KKK. He was also very involved in "city planning" before such a thing was wide-spread -- I'm not sure if that's an accomplishment or just a coincidence. Though all in all I think a friend of mine summed it up rather well for me in two sentences (at different times). The first was "Dallas is just one long string of restaurants." -- then shortly thereafter I heard one of the local radio DJ's say that Dallas has more restaurants per-person than almost any other city in the us. I think it was #3 or somesuch. The 2nd comment was "as an icon, Dallas is a place to change your oil." I think it's ironic that in recent years a number of fountains have popped up in the downtown area with allusions to pegasus. They want to make you think it's because people in Dallas have culture and class, but the truth is that it's because they're influenced if not sponsored by... I think Mobil. s. isaac dealey 954.522.6080 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://www.sys-con.com/author/?id=4806 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Purchase Flash MX Pro from House of Fusion, a Macromedia Authorized Affiliate and support the CF community. http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=57 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:157626 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
