No, no children. I was wondering about it since I'd never heard of it.
That's all. Thanks for the explaination. It sounds like something my
younger brother might have had. However, he's now 30 and a DI in the USMC,
so I think he's under control. :-)

You don't have kids, do you Matt? Just curious as to why you want to know.

ODD = Oppositional Defiant Disorder, a label often applied to young
boys. I think it's a genuine disorder that is also sometimes a label
of convenience for schools. I do think my son has it, though, not
saying he doesn't. It's a rather mild conduct disorder, rather
frustrating to deal with, though I've had some success with a
cognitive approach. In my son's case I believe it to be due to a
build-up of frustration with teachers telling him he is stupid/lazy/ a
pain because his handwriting does not meet their specifications.

That's enough for an overview. I can go deeper if people are really
interested. He is also ADHD-diagnosed, no question at all that this
diagnosis is accurate. I'd say the ADHD and dysgraphia are primary,
possibly genetic, and the ODD is secondary due to poor educational
experiences in the past.
