well, it went like this, at least for us. No matter what he was asked to do, he couldn't. It was too hard, necessary items were missing, it was his sister's job, etc.
He is old enough that I have been able to get him to reflect on what he is doing and why, which is what I mean by a cognitive approach. It could be an issue for an adult I suppose...
