Excellent points.  These are laws and rule designed to keep the country safe
and orderly.  Of course these infringe on personal liberty.  But there are
personal liberties that infringe on societal norms.  As I said before, it's
the in-between area that works best.

You know, something else that is kinda funny, a lot of those things you
mentioned do in fact have some sort of government regulation.

There are often rules about where you swim, surf, ski, rock climb, bicycle
to offer as much protection to the people as possible.

There are laws that govern how we drive, how electricity is used, how
showers are installed, and even who we can and cannot shoot.

The Constitution charges the federal government to oversee the welfare of
the citizens of this country. If you disagree with what they do, then fine.
We discuss that in forums such as this. We write to representatives. We vote
for people that we agree with.

But keep in mind, the government can do virtually anything they want.
