I don't want the govt to ban or filter anything. I want the govt to
allow ISPs to filter virus-related traffic, but not content. I say the
ISPs because they are generally much smarter than the govt regarding
what actually needs to be banned.

Are these the same "Americans" that voted Bush in office - twice? :)

I don't want the government involved in any way, shape or form to be
involved with the Internet. If "Americans" are worried about the
content that their children are seeing, then they should pressure
companies like AOL to come up with ways of filtering their content
(which is already happening). Let the rest of us be, it is very much a
matter of free speech, and you know once the government gets involved,
it becomes a moral issue that we'll throw millions of dollars at, never
fix correctly, and the debate will rage on forever.

Really, why should I have to suffer because John Q. Public's daughter
stumbled upon MILFhunter.com? If you think about it in a way that makes
people responsible for the upbringing of their own children, it is a
great business opportunity for AOL/Earthlink, etc! Capitalism at it's
finest! :)
