Gary: I actually should have retitled my email -- it's MY management. Other management has been great. My boss's boss (who is the CFO) is actually a hard ass, but he's incredibly understanding at times too. He's recognized the 16 hour days that I've put in (both in the office and at home) and gives me time off every once in a while among other perks. He calls me personally to make sure I'm not overwhelmed (which I usually am) and puts other projects on hold when he feels there's too much going on. A really good guy in my eyes. Plus he's got two kids, which makes me feel as if he understands where I'm coming from.
This guy's a killer though. Very cynical, very angry, and very condescending. I'm gonna ride it out until my new boss comes in (who is supposed to be a very technical person with project management skills). Either that or hang in there until (if) the tech market gets better. I'm gonna stop bitching about it now... it really gets me nowhere. Plus it makes me look like a negative person and I'm really not. I'm 24, got a wife, kid, mortgage, car, fish, and karate classes to take care of. Crap at work tends to affect all the other things, and I really can't let it anymore. Thanks to all for your input. It helps me feel as if I'm not nuts. (Well, I am, and I have the tattoos to show it.) Thanks!!! -V -----Original Message----- From: Gary P. Very nurturing and supportive work environment, at least as far as this guy goes. I cannot think of anything (short of breathing, eating, you know, staying alive) than my son (or your daughter). I have a plan. Tell me where the SOB parks, I will kneecap him. No questions asked. Baseball bat, footsteps, get's near car. BAM!!! Also, I am management (sorry). So, it stands to reason, I can say, "Vinny, go ahead and take a week..., no make that a month, off, all expenses. No, no, I know what you are going to say Vinny. No, don't EVEN worry about checking email, the servers, whatever. I know, I know, we'll take care of it, you're worth it. And here is that $10K bonus we talked about. Go buy a pony (or horse) for your daughter. After all, her happiness is the most important thing in the world to all of us." -Gary > -----Original Message----- > From: Vinny DiDonato [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 8:28 AM > To: CF-Community > Subject: Grrrr...
