Ok, so as most of yall know, I'm something of a hardware noob. My Dell XPS has pretty bad battery life, but has been getting worse in the last 4 or 5 weeks. I can only get, maybe, 50 minutes or so.
So I went to Dell and found a new battery: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=312-0273&icompatid=166537&c=us&l=en&cs=19&page=dellitemsproductlisting.aspx I call Dell. I first confirm it will work with XPS. I then ask the guy - what kind of battery life can I expect? How much better is it then my stock battery (a 14.8V 95Wh). He said I should get 8 hours. Of course, I laugh in his face, but I figure - heck, if I can get close to 2 hours I'll be happy. So I the battery arrives today. I charge it up. And as unscientific test, I unplug it at 71%. It says I'll have 1 hour 55 minutes. Sweet! A few hours later, at 100%, I unplug it again. .... It says I'll have 55 minutes. Now... I know I shouldn't trust the estimate Windows is giving - but is this insane or what? -- ======================================================================= Raymond Camden, Director of Development for Mindseye, Inc (www.mindseye.com) Member of Team Macromedia (http://www.macromedia.com/go/teammacromedia) Email : [EMAIL PROTECTED] Blog : ray.camdenfamily.com Yahoo IM : cfjedimaster "My ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is." - Yoda ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:168080 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
