I was going to say "not legally since prohibition was lifted in the
30's" ... Yeah, to some extent it's controlled, re: DWI, but that's
for the same reason a cop will pull you over if he notices you falling
asleep at the weel. It's not because of what it does to your mind or
your body obviously, since it's perfectly legal to be completely
shit-faced on it as long as you're not driving. By comparison in the
US, (except in some isolated areas) it's entirely not legal to posess
any amount of pot whatsoever, whether you're driving or not. I'd say
by legal definitions, that doesn't make alcohol a "drug".
