Well, I'm starting up a few websites to help families relocate with the
help of some local companies here in town. They have offered to get people
jobs and a new place to live since the standard of living is so low here,
and the national companies that are based here can afford it and because the
state was offering land at an even more discounted price, somewhere in the
western half in the middle of no where.
A client called me at around 2pm this afternoon to tell me the local
news and local companies needed my help with some websites. Not that Kansas
is the ideal place to live if your from NO, but at least people here are
willing to help, and I want to be part of that since I am sitting in a
comfortable chair with an abundant supply of cookies, gummy bears, coke and
coffee to keep me going (I know, healthy).
I already called two paying clients and asked if they would mind holding off
on work until we got this first site rolling. I'm not making any money off
the sites and in fact we will probably get behind on bills for the next two
months, but if I can help, I'll give what I can and because want to. Some
of my family were down there, and now they are homeless and jobless. A
graphic artist and his family have retreated to Lake Charles with no where
to go...and there hundreds more in Houston and Baton Rouge in the same
situation. So next week we're getting the first family down in Houston and
hopefully giving them new jobs and hopefully one of the companies can cover
a new house or trailer or something....no more Ralph and Kacoos for a while,
but they might settle for some good BBQ in KC :)
