The argument for it goes like this: Schools (or stadiums) provide a public good and you benefit from it. The better educated the population the more access you'll have to low cost goods. Take a recent kids' soccer game I went to: All of the kids arrived in Mini-vans or SUVs, had uniforms and all of the parents had sun tents, backpack coolers, party chairs, and video cameras. And this was in a middle class to lower middle class area. That's a hell of a lot different when I was kid and had to cut through yards and wear my own "play" clothes. The point being there's a lot more wealth here today that 20 years ago and part of that are due to these public good expenses. That being said, I fully agree when it comes to stadiums. The last thing I want to subsidize is sex parties for criminals. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:178577 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
