A quick map quest search and it would appear that I live 1229 miles/1978 kilometers from Yellowstone... So I'm still feeling rather secure.
I'm not currently under the potential umbrella of a Yellowstone eruption here in California; prevailing winds will extend it easterly. So I will just have to worry about quakes, the occasional flood and even the rare tornado. The extra 200 miles will diminish the amount of ash, but it would still interrupt your day. The speculation was that enough ash would fall in Western Europe to stall vehicles. Now the fact that this may not happen for millennia is a fairly good reason that procrastinating on that "volcano" shelter is probably not going to hurt you. :-) -------------- Ian Skinner Web Programmer BloodSource www.BloodSource.org Sacramento, CA "C code.
