I've been here since Sept 21 - so yeah, very long! I've driven to Scotland - beautiful country. Highly recommended.
As for Ireland - another great place to drive around. That plan sounds like it'll work fine. It's not a very big island ;) but it's slow going because of the winding roads and narrowness of everything. You'll definitely have a blast!!!!!! The country pubs are fabulous.
