It's supposed to ramp up your metabolism and other shit - the idea being that your body has to use different processes to break down carbs vs. proteins. So, you eat them separately.
I lost weight on that diet, but I was starving all the time. All the fucking time. I ate 8 times a day and I was always hungry. They tell you that you _shoud_ be hungry and eat every 2 hours or you're doing it wrong. I just didn't have time to eat that often.
