There was some farm legislation that went through that increased the tax
deduction for corporations that purchased heavy vehicles.

It just so happened that Large SUVs like the Hummer, Suburban and
Excursion fell into that category as well.

The bill was designed to let farmers update outdated farm equipment at a
lower cost; however they left it wide open for non farming corporations
to take advantage of it. So many small business owners and even families
with savvy accountants used the deduction.

However it was a one time deduction based on the purchase. Not a credit
like the hybrid.
