I actually don't know whether the people I am talking about went to
Iraq -- lost track of them a while back. But I know a number of units
out of El Paso did go. so most likely yes, esp as these two were
career officers. Just pointing out that when I asked about the
National Guard, going to Iraq was not remotely on their horizon ;) so
it was probably even less something that some poor slob in Raton
anticipated when he signed up -- he was probably thinking more along
the lines of forest fires.
