Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in... The pilot was clearly justified in what he did, period. I would rather somebody err on the side of caution than be worried about being politically correct. Racial profilling is also justified now. Everybody needs to learn to be more understanding of the current climate we live in. Not only does the pilot need to be concerned with his passengers safety, but also his and the crew. If it were me and I had just a little doubt about someone's credentials, the person would be booted in a heartbeat.
On the other side, the Secret Service guy had a right to be upset, but he could have conducted himself in a more professional manner and settled the problem outside of the court room. Instead, he decided to take the low road and bitch and moan and cause a ruccus. Now if the secret service agent was a WASP would he have been >kicked off the plane? Probably not. From what I understand, the current threat usually comes from single, middle eastern males, under the age of 50. If the guy had a bunch of kids with him, or he was old, or he was female, he probably would not have been questioned. The current terrorist profile is obvious and anyone who is responsible for protecting others knows it. Those who are responsible for protecting others and ignore the profile are not doing their job and are endangering others. They should be lawyers rather than being responsible for the lives of others. . . ______________________________________________________________________ Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
