Holding people just because they're Arab or Arab looking would be wrong. Holding someone because their visa or immagration paperwork is wrong or outdated would be justified. Holding someone because there may be a possible link between them and a crime and there is probable cause to do so would be a tricky one. One one hand, you could say, there may be a link, but all we have is "circumstantial" evidence supporting this claim. So we'll let you go for now. On the other hand, you could say, even though the evidence is "circumstantial, we're afraid you'll flee the country, so we're going to hold on to you for a while.
I don't know what kind of evidence, if any, they have on the people being held so I really don't know what to say about that. I really do wish that Americans, and the rest of There is a difference between an inconvenience (i.e., extra time at the airport) and being taken away to a prison and not being told what you did. How patient would you be if you were taken away from your family and not told exactly why you being held. Heck, one guy had his glasses taken away from him. He was kept in solitary confinement for days. What if you were a single parent taking care of a child? PS - OFFTOPIC God, I've complained about this before but I'll say it again. I hate it when applications take focus. Nothing bugs a fast typist more then when an application takes over while you are typing an email. -rc ______________________________________________________________________ Structure your ColdFusion code with Fusebox.
