Fighting a police action in an undeclared war, that I supported. 

I've always said that that was my biggest problem with every deployment I
went on, no actual declaration of war.  With a declaration of war the
military gets far broader powers, and much much more money and resources.
Resources and money that would save lives out on the sharp end.  I would
have a lot more respect for Bushy and his boys if they tried to get congress
to declare war.
