That's normal.

I spent a good amount of time and money trying to do something similar last
year, but I think it's a problem on both sides of the wire. The TV is not
designed to handle a computer input and the s-video, at that resolution,
produced from a video card, even a good video card, is usually sub-standard.


If you really want or need to get your computer to look good on a TV, it
might be time for a new TV. Most LCDs and DLPs projection sets now have PC
inputs. I have a Samsung DLP 46 incher and a decent video card that outputs
everything at 1280 x 720 (native) and it's awesome.
