I am not sure whether you are saying that the US would have no reason
to get involved or would be justified in doing so. I am leery of this
conversation since I know less than nothing about Ecuador and all I
know about Venezuala is that the administration stooges seem to think
it's evil somehow. Gel on the other hand soes seem to be frothing at
the mouth a bit, so I don't want to adopt his position without
factchecking it and I may be just a bit too busy or lazy to do so.

But the idea that the US would become involved in Latin America more
or less because it can is far from ridiculous. If this is ok in your
opinion, well, I don't have time for this discussion. On the whole I
believe in leaving people alone if they are no threat to me.

And dude. Terrorism as a justification for Iraq? Aren't we past that yet?
