I'm kind of confused by the analogy of Saints to religious leaders anyway. Saints are people who have passed away and are prayed to by believers who think that the Saints are closer to God than themselves. Religious leaders (Popes, Rabbis, Ministers, Preachers, Reverends, Imams, etc) are living beings who lead worship. That's a big difference. However, the point is taken that the beliefs of the Catholic religion include Saints, and that's just the way it is.
