I would say there is no need to tell your boss. You're in an impossible situation. You either mess things up with your wife or quit your job. You can always get a new job. Finding a new wife would be harder. I can sympathise with a long commute. I used to do an hour commute and that was killing me.
I would say just go about your normal duties and look for another job. If you tell them ahead of time that you are unhappy they could let you go. There is nothing your job could do except let you telecommute and that may not be an option for them. Or maybe you could change the times you come in, come in a couple hours later, couple hours earlier. But unless you have another job lined up, I would be hesitant to say anything. You never really know someone else, especially in a business setting.
