Paul, We USED to be a country of LAWS.

Of course it matters that these people are illegal. They start their
citizenship by flouting the very laws they want to live under. Is this
really the type of person we want to invite in.

They have already shown their willingness to break our laws. What
other laws will they decide not to follow?

Legal immigrants have shown a law abiding nature, and an acceptance of
our laws, and in many cases, a patience and understanding that makes
them ideal citizens.

The illegals have done exactly the opposite.
