If washing cars paid $10/hr in Kentucky, the average wage would be higher,
as would the cost of living. The jobs are not in Kentucky, they are in other
places hundreds or even thousands of miles away. Are people in Kentucky
willing to do what it takes to get one of those jobs? Like move to Seattle
or San Diego or DC? Apparently not. How about Hawaii? Lowest unemployment in
the country, under 3%.
