It still matters. If it can be shown that it was not done under Sharon's command then I stand corrected. If I remember correctly, the commission of inquiry established by the Israeli government did find Sharon indirectly responsible.
On the other hand, has any other government in the region done the same? There are plenty of more odious incidents, such as Hama in 1972 in Syria, or several incidents in Jordan during Black September etc. None of these governments did anything similar to what the Israeli government did with Sharon, made an honest attempt to find out what happened and assign responsibility. larry -- Larry C.
