But, part of your job is to realize IF you need to be a tool, to
overshadow any blunders made by the groom earlier in the day.

You may need to be the beacon, the shining example of tooldom, to
deflect any long-term memories of the groom's toolishness.

So when the mother-in-law says to her litle girl "Dear, why did the
groom...?", the bride can respond with "At least he didn't do what Ray
did!". And then they can both scheme how to keep the new hubby away
from you - the bad influence.
