he says he is reconsidering, but remember that it's election season. I think it's important -- it's an opportunity to limit the damage. Side note, the local congressional election here is still pretty close.
The Democrat has been running against George Bush and has been ahead by a hair or not depending on which poll you look at. Either way, it's been within the margin of error -- too close to call. The latest poll however seems to say that the Republican incumbent has been successful in smearing her challenger with an unrelated (or not depending on whome you believe) corruption scandal. So she is now perceived as the "honest" candidate by a slight majority.
