Okay, so I'm trying the outside thing. He slept and when he woke (almost 3 hours). I took him outside. He urinated but did not deficate. How long do you let the puppy try? He urinated and then wanted to play with the leaves. I ignored him and had him on a leash. I led didnt give him much slack at all so he couldnt play too much. I waited 10 minutes. I'll update in the morning how it all goes. But already he's back asleep. How do you know he's ready to use the bathroom during the day? When he's not limited to the crate and not just waking up to use the restroom? Thanks all of you for the tips.
