So, this morning, our neighbor came over and alerted us (very gently and nicely) to the fact that our dog apparently barks all day long while we are gone. All day, and it's been going on for months. I'm surprised it took her so long to tell us!
Our setup is that we have a room in the house that she can hang out in and a dog door to go outside to our fenced in yard whenever she wants. She does not bark / is not barking by the time we get home or when we leave in the morning, and rarely if ever barks when we're home (which is why this is a complete surprise). Anyway, do you guys have any advice for how to curb this behavior? We think it's apprehension/anxiety driven from being alone. WWCD? (What would Cesar do?) She gets enough exercise, and she's usually home alone for 7 or 8 hours. She is not an anxious dog when we're around. Our proposed plan of attack (as of this AM): AM walks (instead of evening exercise), a dog walker for her once a day so she gets a little love, and finally, not cuddling with her every second that we're home - making her a bit more independent and not quite the center of our universe (which she undoubtedly is at the moment). Any of you peeps with puppies encountered something similar? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:221180 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
