Trans fat ban, is that the height of stupidity or what? Pretty soon they are going to ban donuts. Doh! They already did!
I think the solution to many problems of government is to increase the number of Senators and Representatives. Multiply each by ten. The system would be so unwieldy that nothing would ever get done, exactly as the Founders intended! Seriously, I have thought for a long time that the number of people in Congress was way too low. Think about it. Each state had two Senators in 1800 when the total population of the US was roughly 5.3 million. We have almost sixty times as many people now, but the same number of Senators! The current system puts too much power in the hands of too few people. Just imagine if there were that many more people in Congress. For one thing, you might actually have a chance of knowing your Rep., because they would be representing far fewer people than they are today and would have more incentive to get to really know the people in their district, instead of just shaking hands and rubbing elbows with the fat cats.
