These lawsuits were for actions that happened before the warnings, and
for concerted action to deliberately lie and obfuscate the truth. And
about collusion between the supposedly competative companies to keep
the lies going.

I agree, if they just said "These'll kill you", then your own your own.

But they didnt say that. They continued to insist that there were no
adverse health affects. And that they were not addictive (and at the
same time, doing all science could do to make them more addictive).

A lot like the current hubbub with the USAs.
