These manuals are merely guidelines, a place to start when making unit SOP's. I used these very manuals and others to help develop our unit's SOP's and once we got into country we had to make changes to them on a regular basis because as we developed strategies to counter the enemy, they countered with a new strategy and so on. This is a HUGE game of cat and mouse.
