The truth, of course, is that gov't is made up of the same stupid people. And, typically, they're dumber because they couldn't find a higher paying job in the private sector or they were appointed and have no clue how to do anything (e.g., Brownie). So don't be fooled Vivec; gov't ain't no smarter and usually it's a heck of a lot dumber. What makes the US the global economy leader is that it combines democracy with capitalism. That allows each person to do the "smart thing" for themselves which makes for a powerful economy. The problem comes in when there are gaps on who bears the costs for bad choices; Dana's "externalized costs". This is where government can help by leveling field. A gas guzzler tax, and a carbon tax, are a way to put make the consumers of the problem bear the costs. I paid $2500 gg tax on my last car and I also pay all the additonal gas taxes at the pump. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Enterprise web applications, build robust, secure scalable apps today - Try it now ColdFusion Today ColdFusion 8 beta - Build next generation apps Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:240275 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
