We know from historical observation that the planet gets warmer and cooler
in cycles. That fact has never been disputed by anyone that I know of. The
real question is ehterh and to what extent human activity has any effect on
that cycle. Personally, I seriously doubt that anything we do, short of
detonating a large number of nuclear warheads in the atmosphere, will have
any substantial effect on planetary climate change.

Go back to the historical record. 10,000 years ago (a blink of an eye in
planetary history), large portions of what are now temperate zones of the
planet were covered in mile high sheets of ice. How did that happen? More
importantly, will it happen again? The historical record says yes. We have
absolutely no control over it, either, which is why I tend not to worry
about any effect that human activity might have around the fringes.
