And none of that actually has anything to do with any of it. The real reason we are the target is: we are the chosen target.
Their press and their politicians and their religious demagogues hold up the USA as the source of all of their problems, from acne to bad breath to unemployment and world hunger. It is this that is the true source of all the problems. We make it easy for them to do it. We don't hold the countries that support them accountable for their schools and press and politicians. And in many cases, actively give them money to teach that junk. We don't do a good job of selling ourselves and contrasting those teachings. We can sell them on Michael Jordon, Tiger Woods, iPods and Nike, but not on anything else? We _do_ do bad things that don't help. Unfortunately, we freely admit to those mistakes, which in many cultures is misconstrued, and seen as an admission of weakness, or worse, of doing like their politicians do, and admit to a little thing to hide a bigger thing.
