when I was trying to quit cold turkey here is how it would go. I'd get about a day and a half into it, and I'd dtop by 7-11 for coffee. As they were ringing me up they would ask me if there was anything else. And I would ask for a pack of cigarettes.
Once I had them, I would smoke them. I did this oh -- maybe a dozen times. Smoking is a fairly ingrained and personal habit. It becomes part of a lot of other habits, like coffee, and food, and drinking. Not to mention talking and sex. What Nicorette does is take the physical addiction out of the equation while you get used to eating, drinking liquor or coffee, or *whatever,* without smoking a cigarette afterwards. It gets you used to talking without a cigarette in your hand. Once you've gotten that down, yes, you still have to quit the gum. But you're down to one noxious substance in the meantime instead of the 250 or so that are in cigarette smoke, and you've learned how to buy someting at 7-11 without also getting cigarettes. That's the rationale for the gum. The drugs I am not sure. On Dec 13, 2007 8:21 AM, Todd <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I never said it was easy. > > The gum and drug solutions fascinate me, though.
