Gruss, The threat is only effective against people uninformed enough to forego competent legal counsel and attempt to navigate legal waters themselves.
One quick telephone conversation with your attorney would completely eliminate the threat. He would tell you that if such a suit were even attempted it would be dismissed because there wouldn't have been grounds for it to proceed. It would be like me suing you for Theft By Conversion because I claim that you damaged my car with a hammer. Any judge would look at that suit and say, "That doesn't even meet the definition of Theft By Conversion" and dismiss it. So let's say I then sue you for the actual definition of what I think you did to my car. If I don't present any evidence that might indicate you were even involved, again it gets tossed for lack of prima facie evidence. And the whole "Anyone can sue anyone for anything" has been taken too far away from its original intention of explaining that there is no restriction from anyone *filing* a lawsuit. It doesn't explain the severe legal repercussions for appearing to attempt to abuse the legal system, which would typically be the second half of such a conversation. No one can effectively define or navigate through even the "simplest" legal concepts with brief slogans. The Law (as a thorough concept and discipline, not the collection of laws of any specific place), both criminal and civil, is perhaps the single most necessarily complex and complicated system of any kind on Earth.
