+1 on all of the above. Jack's didn't exist when I left KC, but my
parents swear by it. They are both Kansas City Barbecue Society
certified Judges (Dad's a Master level).

The dumpier the place the better IMHO. :-)

G, is Oklahoma Joe's still a gas station/bbq restaurant?

This is one of the things I miss the most about Kansas City. The
Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is one of the best in the country. Highly
underrated.

They've got my favorite painting in the whole world there,
Caravaggio's "John the Baptist." I used to go to the museum just to
see that painting. When I visit KC, I always make time to go to the
Nelson. It's worth it.
