learn trees
ash, elm, tulip poplar.
we found these in a 3rd growth oak forest which is weird...
but elm used to stretch across Ohio.

old apple orchards are good too.

the 1/2 frees or dog peckers we found where in a area of 23 feet or so.
couldn't miss them, 14+

the blacks, where just pushing up through the leaf cover... pretty hard to
spot.

i would be out in the woods right now if my car hadent blown a shock plug on
the commute home last night.
thats just a rough from mechanic he things that some thing in the engine may
have blown..
scared me though...
