OK, here's the facts as I see them. McCain sought the support of the Hagee and was happy with the endorsement so he is now 'responsable' for what Hagee says. That being said, lets look at what Wikipedia (not a reliable source of information in general) has to say:
Accusations of anti-Catholicism - The term "Godless theology" is a very loaded one and one on which he has been and should be condemned. There have been major steps away from their past arrogance in replacement theology, accusations of deicide, etc. but there is still core issues such as proselytizing that show that arrogance. True, its not restricted to Catholicism, but.... Claims that Islamic Qur'an contains a "mandate to kill Christians and Jews" - it does. Don't take my word for it, read it yourself - especially in Arabic if you can. Comments on hurricane Katrina - Yes, God caused the hurricane (if you believe in God) but the reasoning for it is beyond his or anyone else's review unless they are in direct communication with God. But then again, this is just as bad as saying the US government created AIDs to kill people of color as an aside, the term people of color is the same as saying colored people which is taken as an insult by many. Does the reversal of the words make it that anyone can say it or is it reserved for people of color only? Accusations of antisemitism - He's not alone in his stated beliefs here. He later qualified his belief to be limited to Biblical understanding rather than modern history. Financial controversy - not an issue in this context. On the whole, I find the 'problems' surrounding him to be FAR less of an issue than those of Wright's.
