I had something similar (something I thought was HD-ish) that turned
out to be a bad stick of RAM.

If it weren't so intermittent, I'd say do the old, pull a stick, see
if it's stable.  If not, eliminate another stick.  Rinse, wash,
repeat.  That might hurt you too much tho.  I know that at the time,
dropping back to a single gig, and running eclipse and DBs and
everything, was rather painful.  =]

And I *think* it even passed the memory tests I ran on it, IIRC.  I'd
just had it be the memory so many times, I gave it a whirl anyways.

Video drivers have been pretty sucky too, at times.
